I'd say the thing to look for with any scan tool is its capabilities and functions, China is really driving this market as they do knock-offs of each other's intellectual property but that is what China does best! The most important thing is reliability of the data and frequency of updates. IDK, maybe there's different variations of that tool. I took a look at your CRP123 while on Amazon and it appears they have deeply discounted it from the price you paid, I saw quite a few in the $130 - $150 range now. Amazon has several different vendors using the "XTOOL" name I noticed and I am not sure if they are approved XTOOL vendors or not. I never charge for my time, and they just pay for the discounted parts, but I do get a lot of "free dinners!"Ĭlick to expand.I got my XTOOL D7 on Amazon on a 24 hour Black Friday Deal, paid $328 + tax on it from "XTOOL OFFICIAL" - I think I misquoted an earlier price of $311, but it was actually $328. Mostly now I just work on my family's fleet of cars 8-10 different vehicles, as well as several close friends. Bascally if it works, then breaks, I want to FIX IT! I also have an extensive background in computers, computer-guided fire control RADAR, gun and missile systems, as well as an applied physics background in semiconductor manufacturing working with Ion Implantation toolsets which encompasses hydraulic, mechanical, pneumatic, analog and digital electrical, ultra high vacuum, cryogenic & turbo molecular pumps, and on and on. I also fabricated MILSPEC level electrical wiring harnesses for the MRAP's and HUMVEE's. I have also worked at an Army Depot level facility where I wrenched on Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicles, such as the Buffalo Route Clearance Vehicle. I have been a professional mechanic both at Firestone (early 1980's) and as a Navy Aviation Mechanic working on fighter jets (engine mech) such as the F-5 Tigershark (Topgun Squadron), A-4 Skyhawks, F-4 Phantoms and F-14 Tomcats.
